This is a starting template written to cover the basics App Store and Google Play require.
Privacy law varies by country and changes often — have a lawyer review this before you publish it,
especially the sections on payments, data retention, and children's privacy.
The Beauty App ("we", "us", "our") connects clients with nearby beauty professionals
(hair, nails, makeup, skin, and barber services). This policy explains what information we collect,
how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
Account information: name, email, phone number, and password when you create an account.
Profile information (pros): business name, services, prices, portfolio photos, and availability.
Location data: your approximate or precise location, used to show nearby pros on the map. You can
turn this off in your device settings at any time, though some features may not work without it.
Messages and bookings: the content of messages you send through the app, and booking details
(date, time, service requested).
Payment information: subscription purchases (like Plus) are processed by Apple's App Store or
Google Play — we do not receive or store your card details directly.
Usage data: how you interact with the app (pages viewed, searches, taps), device type, and
app version, collected automatically.
2. How we use your information
To show you relevant pros or clients near your location.
To enable messaging and booking between clients and pros.
To process subscriptions and manage your account.
To improve the app, fix bugs, and understand how features are used.
To send you booking confirmations, updates, and — if you opt in — promotional messages.
To keep the platform safe (fraud prevention, abuse reports, content moderation).
3. Who we share it with
Other users: a pro's profile, photos, prices and ratings are public within the app. A client's
name and message content are shared with the pro they contact.
Service providers: hosting, analytics, push notifications, and customer support tools that
process data on our behalf under contract.
Apple / Google: for processing in-app subscription payments.
Legal reasons: if required by law, or to protect the safety of our users.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Your choices and rights
Access, correct, or delete your account information from within the app or by contacting us.
Turn off location access in your device settings.
Opt out of promotional notifications while still receiving essential booking alerts.
Request a copy of your data or ask us to delete it, subject to legal retention requirements.
Depending on where you live (e.g. EU/UK under GDPR, California under CCPA), you may have additional
rights — contact us to exercise them.
5. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the service,
comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can request deletion of
your account at any time.
6. Children's privacy
The Beauty App is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from
them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of
transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
8. International users
Your information may be processed in countries other than the one you live in, which may have different
data protection laws.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app
or by email before they take effect.
